Students need to make off-campus decisions that work best for their unique situations.

Assistance with Tenant Issues

Off-Campus Resources wants UA students to be empowered to resolve any issues with their rental unit or landlord. This is an important life skill that must be practiced. We want our students to have the tools to advocate for themselves, and we can help you navigate these situations for better results.

Off-Campus Resources cannot act on your behalf as a tenant. We can assist you in the following ways:

  • understand how to document your situation in accordance with your lease and the Alabama Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.
  • help you prepare for a conversation with your landlord about getting a resolution to your concerns
  • help you understand how you can take ownership of your situation regarding the upkeep and safety of your home

Important Information about Safety and Security

The University of Alabama can never guarantee that accidents and criminal activity will not occur. Off-Campus Resources serves to help students and their parents make more informed decisions about off-campus housing options. Rental owners remain solely responsible for the operation, physical condition, and maintenance of their properties. Neither Off-Campus Resources nor The University of Alabama guarantee or warrant the safety or security of any properties on our website. Safety and security in any given situation depends on multiple factors, not the least of which is the responsibility of all persons to make informed decisions and use of practices.
